Assigning multiple GL Codes for your allocated item

Assigning multiple GL Codes for your allocated item

You can allocate an item (Account, Subaccount, Line, or Billing Item) to more than one GL Code string. The default expectation when assigning a GL Code to an item is a one-to-one ratio; however, the Asignet Platform supports multiple GL Code assignments.

In this example, we are allocated at the Account level and we’d like to assign two GL Code strings so the allocated charges are split across two charge codes.

To enable this behavior, when you are defining the GL Codes, change the Type from 100% to Variable. You will then need to define the Percentage. Your percentage value supports two decimal places, if needed.

The sum of all the GL Code’s assigned percentages must equal 100%.
